TEF & TCF Canada Listening · 6 Mock Tests

Real exam audio pace

6 tests · TEF + TCF

Answer keys included

What's included in this package?

Six full listening mock tests: three in TEF Canada format and three in TCF Canada format. Each test comes with the audio recording, the matching question paper, and an answer key so you can mark yourself the moment you finish. It all arrives as one instant download, and it is yours to keep and replay as many times as you need.

How should I use these listening tests?

Treat every test like the real thing. Headphones on, press play, and answer as you listen — no pausing, no rewinding. Mark it straight away with the answer key, then write down which question types keep catching you out. Leave a few days before the next one. Spacing the six tests over two or three weeks tells you far more about your real level than doing them back to back.

Who is this for?

Anyone sitting the listening section of TEF Canada or TCF Canada. Because both formats are in the same package, it works whether you have already booked your exam or are still deciding between the two. It suits you if you understand French reasonably well on paper but lose the thread the moment someone speaks at full speed — that gap is what timed listening practice closes.

Why it works

Listening is where most candidates lose their points

Reading and writing you control. You can slow down, go back, reread the line. Listening you cannot. The audio runs once, at full native speed, and if you miss the answer it is gone. That is why candidates who score well everywhere else still get held back here. These six tests put you under that pressure early: same formats, same pace, same one-shot rule. Do them properly and by the last one you are not translating in your head any more, you are just hearing it.

What changes as you work through the six tests

A realistic picture of how listening improves — no overnight promises

Tests 1-2

Your honest baseline

Sit two tests cold, one TEF and one TCF. The score is usually lower than people expect, and that is the point: you now know your real starting level and which parts cost you the most.

Tests 3-4

The patterns start showing

The same traps keep reappearing: numbers, dates, negatives, the speaker who changes their mind halfway through. Once you can name what catches you out, you can listen for it on purpose.

Tests 5-6

Exam pace stops feeling fast

By the last two tests the speed is no longer the problem. You know how each format is built, you stop panicking when you miss a word, and you walk into the real exam already knowing what the room sounds like.

What you actually get out of these six tests

Six audio tests, both exam formats, delivered the moment you pay.

Both exam formats covered

Three TEF Canada listening tests and three TCF Canada listening tests in one package, so you are ready whichever exam you sit.

Real exam speed, one listen

The audio runs at the pace of the real exam, with the same rule: it plays through, and you answer as you go.

An answer key with every test

Mark yourself the moment you finish, while the audio is still fresh, and see exactly which questions slipped past you.

Nothing to wait for

The download link arrives the second your payment clears. No shipping, no waiting, nothing to set up.

Yours to keep

Replay any test as often as you like. No expiry date, no subscription, no limit on how many times you use it.

Built for spaced practice

Six separate tests means you can spread them over weeks instead of burning through everything in one sitting.

How this compares to free listening practice

Most people prepare with podcasts and YouTube clips. Those are good for your general French. They do not tell you how you will do under exam conditions.

What people say about these listening tests

FAQs

Questions people ask before buying

What exactly do I get?

Six full listening mock tests: three in TEF Canada format and three in TCF Canada format. Each one includes its audio file, the question paper and an answer key. It all comes as a single download.

How soon do I get it?

Straight away. The download link appears the moment your payment goes through, so you can start the first test within seconds. Nothing is posted to you.

Are these official exam papers?

No. These are independent practice tests written to match the format, timing and question types of the TEF Canada and TCF Canada listening sections. They are not past papers and are not affiliated with the exam boards.

Do I need any special software?

No. The audio plays in any normal media player and the papers are standard PDFs, so a phone, tablet or laptop is enough. Once the files are downloaded you can use them offline.

What level do I need to be at?

There is no minimum. Around A2 you will find the early tests hard, and that itself is useful to know. At B1 or B2 they show you where your score is sitting and what is costing you marks. Either way you get six honest checkpoints before exam day.

How long do I have access?

There is no expiry. Once the files are on your device they are yours to keep, and you can replay any test as many times as you want. Nothing renews and there is no subscription.
